Emma Berger and Sylvain Berger-Duquene are among the ESSEC Foundation donors who have not forgotten their roots. For them, supporting the Foundation is a natural choice:
“As alumni, we are deeply committed to offering this opportunity to those who deserve it, regardless of their background. That is why we chose to give to the ESSEC Foundation, specifically to fund social scholarships.”
For Edouard Couvin, a scholarship student, the generosity of donors like Emma and Sylvain was the catalyst for his academic journey.
Born in France to a family that immigrated from Vietnam, Edouard grew up in Paris. It was during an open house day in his final year of high school that he discovered the Cergy campus. Speaking with students and professors had an immediate impact: he knew this was where he wanted to build his future.
Since joining the school, Edouard hasn’t wasted a single moment. Between a first internship in management control and his involvement in student associations (ESSEC Club of Economics, ESSEC Genius), he is fully thriving. An accomplished athlete, he also presides over the school's boxing club.
The future looks global: next year, he will head out for an exchange program in Shanghai before aiming for a Master’s in Market Finance at ESSEC. Without the Foundation's support, he wouldn’t have been able to consider these opportunities.
« This scholarship allowed me to join a top-tier school like ESSEC and pursue my ambitions without financial constraints holding me back. It gives many students the opportunity to be ambitious, look to the future, and open up new horizons.»
