By joining the Grande École program in his sophomore year, he was able to take advantage of a work-study program. “The apprenticeship model was pivotal,” he says. “It allowed me to compare theory with the reality of the workplace, to learn in a different way, and, above all, to grow faster.”
Looking back, it was this combination of academic rigor and professional immersion that shaped his journey. “It continues to influence the way I think, make decisions, and act even today,” he says.
For Thomas, his first professional position was a decisive stepping stone. Thanks to ESSEC’s close ties with the business world, he was able to gain formative experience, thereby accelerating his career. “Over time, I’ve come to realize just how much I owe to the people I’ve met, the lessons I’ve learned, and the opportunities the School has offered me,” he explains.
"Contributing to the Endowment Fund is much more than just supporting projects or scholarships. It means becoming part of a shared history, perpetuating that spirit of boldness and openness that has always defined ESSEC.” His support for the ESSEC Foundation thus came naturally: “It’s a sincere way to express my gratitude, but also to help open those same doors for future generations.”
He draws inspiration from the success of major American universities to justify his support for the ESSEC Foundation’s endowment fund: “Their long-term sustainability relies on robust endowment funds, which ensure their freedom of action, their ability to innovate, and their capacity to maintain excellence, regardless of economic or political uncertainties,” he explains.
Today, Thomas Tuchscherer embodies a commitment to sharing knowledge and innovating. “By giving, I am helping to build ESSEC’s future—for today’s students and those of tomorrow,” he concludes.
