Next-generation Campus: Investing in a Sustainable Campus for ESSEC
The ESSEC Next-generation Campus project represents a significant milestone in the evolution of our institution. It enhances ESSEC's reputation by providing students and faculty with an exceptional learning and living environment.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and partners, the Cergy campus is transforming into a hub of innovation, sustainability, and academic excellence.
New Spaces to Stimulate Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The Pierre Nanterme Center for Responsible Leadership
Opened in September 2024, the Pierre Nanterme Center for Responsible Leadership offers students a 3000 m² environment dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship. It features four Active Learning classrooms, the ESSEC Ventures incubator with 50 workstations, and a "pitch room" for student entrepreneurs to present their projects or attend conferences and exchanges with partners. It also houses the School's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs.
"I used one of the Active Learning rooms for an interactive pedagogy class as part of the Specialized Master in Entrepreneurship: very fluid exchanges, ideal work configurations, it's a pure joy to teach and share experiences in this room!"
Florence Cavelius, Professor of Management Control at ESSEC and Academic Director of the Management and Organization Management program.
The building's name, Pierre Nanterme Center for Responsible Leadership, honors Pierre Nanterme (1959 - 2019), a major donor and ESSEC graduate in 1981, and CEO of Accenture from 2011 to 2019.
The ESSEC Foundation warmly thanks Accenture for its significant financial support in the realization of the Next-generation Campus, as well as the many individual donors and alumni. Some spaces in this building now bear the names of major donors, in thanks for their significant commitment. Three Active Learning rooms can still be named by alumni.

A New Premium Amphitheater to Foster Innovation and Interaction in Teaching Methods
A new 92-seat amphitheater will open its doors before the summer of 2025 within the Pierre Nanterme Center for Responsible Leadership, to provide high-level courses based on the Harvard method. Its specific horseshoe configuration will allow teachers to captivate the audience optimally, while encouraging active participation and critical thinking.
The ESSEC Foundation is encouraging its donors to take part in financing the opening works of this premium amphitheater.

The First Major donors’ Wall within the renovated Grand Hall
The Grand Hall has been renovated with noble materials while preserving its unique character. This space has undergone a complete modernization from floor to ceiling with the installation of access portals. An extension of the surface on the parvis and a new facade have transformed the entrance to the campus.
Within the Grand Hall, the first Wall of Major Donors of the Foundation will be inaugurated at the start of the 2025 school year. To learn more, please visit our dedicated page.
The new "Sport and recreation center" to encourage sports practice
Inaugurated in April 2023, the Sports and Recreation Center is a 2,700 m² space that offers much more than just a sports practice area; it positions itself as a unifying space, crucial for the cohesion and moral and physical well-being of students.
Designed to host competitions, 36 team and individual sports are practiced there: handball, futsal, badminton, tennis, basketball, yoga, boxing, dances. It includes a 1200 m² multi-sport hall, a dance studio, a martial arts room, a climbing wall, and a rooftop tennis court.
Sandra Sancier-Sultan and Thierry Sancier (E93 & E93) chose to support the Next-Generation Campus project by financing the climbing wall. Their commitment reflects their desire to contribute to a project focused on sustainability and environmental conservation challenges.
"A personal action can have a significant impact. This gift is done with great pride as well as the desire to inspire others to give as well."
Sandra Sancier-Sultan and Thierry Sancier (E93 & E93)

The Research green tower, the center for research and academic excellence
From September 2025, the Research Green Tower will be the place dedicated to the faculty: research, conference rooms, workspaces... Symbolizing the School's environmental commitment, it is equipped with an external bioclimatic double skin to reduce its energy consumption.
"When you receive a lot, you must not forget to give back. That's why I decided to support ESSEC in the low-carbon renovation of its campus by financing the elegant wooden structure of the Research Green Tower, which will significantly lower the building's carbon footprint. Its design reflects the school: exciting, pioneering, essential."
Agnès Nicolas-Ifker (E93), a major donor and a member of the executive committee of the Foundation.
These new buildings are firmly committed to a sustainable development approach
They have a regulatory energy consumption (CEP) 40% lower than the standards, thus reducing CO2 emissions.
Built with decarbonized materials such as wood and rubber, these new buildings reflect a strong ecological commitment. The double-skin facades, by capturing the sun's rays in winter, create a greenhouse effect that helps retain heat and limit thermal losses.
ESSEC also inaugurated at the end of 2024 a photovoltaic power plant with 770 solar panels installed on the roofs of the School. This plant will have a production capacity of 340 kW, covering a significant part of the school's electricity needs. Thanks to this installation, more than 10% of ESSEC's electricity consumption should be covered.
